About the project
ReMEMBER Europe is project that aims to shed light on the on Chortiatis Massacre in Greece and Rakov Potok Massacre in Croatia, in order to preserve the memory of the victims and encourage the younger generations in Greece, Croatia and beyond to understand the underlying reasons that caused these tragedies, so to recognize and avoid them in the future.
The project is funded by the European Commission’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV), which supports initiatives that uphold the fundamental values of the European Union.

ReMEMBER’s main goal is to ensure that the memory of Chortiatis and Rakov Potok Massacres remains alive and serves as a testament to the importance of remembrance, tolerance, and the protection of human rights in Europe as well as to promote such memory preservation in the digital world. By engaging in research, digital education, commemorative activities, the project aims to contribute to a more inclusive and empathetic society while guarding against the dangers of prejudice and discrimination.
Led by the_nidus (Greece) in partnership with Documenta – Center for Dealing with the Past (Croatia) and Infinitivity Design Labs (France), the project will use seminars, guided tours, art workshops, artistic interventions and innovative digital methodologies to encourage dialogue, critical reflection and new ways of preserving memory.
ReMEMBER Europe seeks to:
✅ Educate and sensitize the public about historical events
✅ Amplify the voices and perspectives of those affected
✅ Promote reconciliation and a shared responsibility for remembrance
